ˇ A bit about the author
Now. My name (in case you haven't already guessed) is Jenny Sullivan.
I'm Welsh, and
I used to live in Monmouthshire.
However, at the moment I’m happily living in another Celtic area ~
in
When I'm not writing (something I've been doing since I was 8 years old) I'm usually found in a school somewhere, or a library, either helping kids to write stories and poems in workshops, or talking to them, telling them all about me and my writing.
And before you ask, yes, I love being a writer. It's the best job in the world. Second best is being able to visit schools and talk to and workshop with the kids. That's great.
Current projects
The latest part
of the ‘Magic Apostrophe’ series, ‘Nobody Asked Me!’
was published in September 2006 and there’s an extract from it on this
site. The other two parts, ‘What
Part of No Don’t You Understand?’ and ‘Tree of Light’
are already written, but have no publication date as yet. I’ve also written another in the
‘Gwydion’ series ~ ‘Gwydion’s Quest’, so you can
see I’ve been quite busy!
‘Tirion’s Secret Journal’, a Civil War novel set at
Llancaiach Fawr, was published in 2005, and if you'd like to read an extract of
that, you'll find it in the main menu. A
companion novel ~ not a sequel ~ to ‘Tirion’, ‘Troublesome
Thomas’, was published at the end of July 2007. This book is aimed more at boys than
girls. Much to my delight (and
amazement) ‘Tirion’ won the Tir Na N-Og Award in 2006.
‘A
Guardian What?’ was published in March 2006. It’s about a girl called Tali, who is
being bullied at school. She wishes for
help ~ but doesn’t get exactly what she expected! You can read an extract from that by going
back to the main menu.
There's also one
called "The Really Weird Boy Next Door" and couple of other books in
the pipeline ~ you'll have to wait and see!
I’m also working on an adult fantasy novel, and a teenage novel, ‘Mad as a Box of Frogs’ which have had to take a back seat lately to other projects ~ but I’ll get back to them eventually, I’m sure! Perhaps my hardest project is a two-book series on WWI and WW2, which I am currently trying to find time to research!
